Life Course Framework
Supporting young people at every stage of their development
The Life Course Framework guides MBSK Colorado's work by focusing on critical milestones in a young person's journey from birth through young adulthood. This framework ensures that interventions and support are provided at the right time to maximize positive outcomes.
Early Childhood (0-5 years)
All children enter school ready to learn
We focus on ensuring that young children receive quality early education, health care, and supportive family environments that prepare them for success in school.
- Access to high-quality early childhood education programs
- Comprehensive health screenings and preventive care
- Parent education and family support services
Elementary & Middle School (6-13 years)
All children read at grade level by third grade
Early literacy is a critical predictor of future success. We work to ensure students develop strong reading skills and stay engaged in learning during these formative years.
- Reading intervention and tutoring programs
- After-school enrichment and mentoring
- Social-emotional learning and character development
High School (14-18 years)
All youth graduate from high school ready for college or career
High school is a critical transition period. We support students to graduate on time and be prepared for postsecondary success.
- College and career readiness programs
- Advanced coursework and dual enrollment opportunities
- Mentorship and leadership development
Young Adulthood (19-24 years)
All young adults complete postsecondary education or training
Young adults face unique challenges as they transition to independence. We provide support to ensure they successfully complete training, secure employment, and build stable lives.
- College completion and retention support
- Workforce development and job training
- Financial literacy and asset building
Community & Family
Building strong, supportive communities
Success doesn't happen in isolation. We work to strengthen families and communities so they can provide ongoing support and opportunities for young people.
- Community organizing and leadership development
- Parent and family engagement programs
- Advocacy for equitable policies and systems
